CONNEMARA
PONIES
Stonybrooks
Curragh Kildare "Stormy"

Stormy
is the foundation pony stallion for the Kaleidoscope sportpony
project. I was looking for a smaller Connemara stallion because
of the planned crosses to bigger mares, so his 13.2 hand size
was a definite advantage, as well as his outstanding pedigree.
Stormy's sire, Hideaways Greystone Alex, has competed
in nearly every discipline during his career, including driving,
eventing and endurance riding, as well as being one of the top
producing sires in the breed. With this background, I anticipated
that Stormy would also be a successful competition pony as well
as a prepotent sire.

Stormy was first trained to drive and
then put under saddle as a 5 year old. He competed on a limited basis in Montana
for one season as a 6 year old. He was shown USDF, lst level
dressage, earning respectable scores, as well as AHSA green hunter classes,
winning his first time out over fences as the only pony in the class.
He has proven to be very prepotent in producing his type from a variety of
mares, consistently stamping his foals with good bone and depth of body as well
as his refined neck and typical Connemara "pony" head. His youngsters have been
notable for their exceptional trainability and work ethic, as Stormy has been
himself.

Above photo was taken in 2006 with Stormy now 18
years old. He is definitely the star of the farm as well as being the foundation
of my "pony project" and still my favorite personal riding mount. Always kind
and willing he is a favorite with visitors, with a tremendous sense of humor and
a wonderful attitude.
Stormy continues to stand to outside mares, available
for on farm breeding or shipped semen. His stud fee is $750, which includes
first collection for shipped semen. Early booking and multiple mare discounts
are available.
** New at Kaleidoscope**
Introducing our junior
Connemara Pony stallion
Kaleidoscope's O'Really "BLARNEY"

Blarney was bred specifically to carry on with the sportpony
breeding program at Kaleidoscope and is already demonstrating many of the
characteristics we were hoping for. Standing 14.1 as a 4 year old, he has most
of his growth and basic conformation, though he still has considerable more body
to develop.

His sire, Big Bear's Special Order, was selected particularly
for his outstanding movement, having been bred by the Big Bear Farm in Georgia,
noted for producing Connemaras with exceptional dressage potential. This
impressive length of stride and surprising suspension is very obvious in Blarney
and appears to be something that will be passed on to his progeny as well. He
has all of the natural jumping ability of the breed as well so we would expect
to see him producing dressage, eventing and hunter pony prospects very reliably,
depending on the type of mare he is bred to.

Blarney now has four foals on the ground, a 2005 colt out of a
big sporthorse mare is a striking and growthy yearling, with substantial bone
and substance. His 2006 foal crop includes a very lovely colt out of a TB mare
and two incredibly cute, very Connemara type fillies out of two "Stormy"
daughters here at Kaleidoscope.
Three Blarney foals are expected in 2007. The Kaleidoscope
foal will be from our gold champagne Weltstern daughter, Marilyn Monroe. The
second will be from a repeat breeding of the sporthorse mare who
produced his 2005 foal and the third from Blarney's first shipped semen
foal, a TB mare in Iowa.
Blarney will be available for
breeding, on farm A.I. or shipped semen, with a stud fee of $500,
which includes the first collection for shipped semen. Some early booking and multiple mare discounts may
apply.

FOALS by STORMY

CODY Cody
is the most current example of what our sportpony breeding program
was designed to produce. Out of a 15.1 hand 3/4 warmblood mare,
a grand-daughter of our foundation Oldenburg stallion, Weltstern,
Cody will likely mature in the 14.2 hand range and shows the
athleticism of both his parents and a breath-taking length of
stride for a youngster. He shows every sign of being the type
of sportpony that will be successful in any discipline at upper
levels and have the ability to compete against the "big
guys" just as his sire has done.

BRIAR Briar
is from Stormy's first foal crop, a lovely bay gelding out of
Sue Grayson's combined driving Morgan mare. This very talented
Stormy son is now living and working in California, both in
harness and under saddle.

CELTIC QUEEN Queenie
was Stormy's first colored filly. She was a competition pony
for the children of her first owner and has recently gone to
Wisconsin to be the sensible, reliable trail pony for her new
owner, a mature lady who wanted something "her size".

Flirt A Little

This
exquisite filly is already turning heads with her exceptional movement, which
comes from both sides of her pedigree. All indications are that Blarney is
producing his length of stride and suspension in his foals, and her dam is
a lovely little "Stormy" daughter, with all of his looks, talent and disposition.

This
substantial filly had presence from the day she was foaled. Even though she
is in a "plain brown wrapper" she has no intention of being overlooked. Her
dam, another "Stormy" daughter, is a substantial, big moving mare and again
her sire, Blarney, appears to have reproduced his length of stride and suspension.
