KALEIDOSCOPE FARM SPORT HORSES AND SPORT PONIES

P.O. Box 295 - Eubank, KY 42567
(606) 379-5140

Limitations from old injuries and age has required the downsizing of our breeding program, both in numbers as well as changing the focus of our breeding from horses to ponies.

We no longer breed to produce the bigger horses except under a custom foal contract. However, on occasion a Kaleidoscope-bred horse may be listed for sale by the current owner.

We continue to offer talented young sportponies for dressage and eventing though with current limitations our goal is to have these youngsters sold as weanlings or coming yearlings. Our prices do reflect this preference for early sale, not lesser quality youngsters. In addition, we also offer extremely attractive contracts for in-utero sales as well as custom foal contracts. We are always glad to discuss details of these options with potential buyers.

CURRENTLY FOR SALE

Flashy bay colt foaled 6/2011 out of bay Hackney Pony mare and sired by an American Saddlebred stallion. This foal is an unexpected addition from a mare here on a lease that arrived in foal. The colt is a very alert, athletic colt that should mature in the 13.2 hand range and should be a talented fancy driving pony, will undoubtedly jump well and be versatile enough for Pony Club work. I have always liked the offspring from Hackney Pony and American Saddlebred mares when crossed to warmblood or Connemara Pony stallions and would expect this colt to be particularly suitable for jumping or eventing.

Priced at $400 at weaning, negotiable on a pre-weaning contract.

"TIGER"

Tiger is a 4 year old 12.1/ 12.2 hand bay tobiano sportpony stallion, bred to be an outstanding cross to heavier warmblood mares or a top competition prospect. Excellent movement with warmblood suspension and good length of stride. Dam is a small Oldenburg/TB mare sired by Weltstern and sire is an AWR approved Shetland stallion shown successfully in dressage. Pedigree here: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/eye+of+the+tiger Excellent prospect for CDE competition and could be an outstanding small children's pony if gelded. Asking $1500 for outright sale with offers considered,  lease could be an option and terms may be available to qualified buyer. IN-UTERO SALES for 2012

Belafonte d'Avalon

Kaleidoscope's Megan

SOLD!

We expect this foal to be an exceptional example of the modern sportpony and are delighted to announce that the foal from this breeding will be going to Suzanne Hopf of Shadow Hollow Farm. Belafonte is owned by d'Avalon Equine and is approved for both Weser-Ems and RPSI. The dam is a Connemara from the Big Bear Farm bloodlines in GA, with all of the dressage movement and jump those lines are noted for. Current plans are for both mare and foal to be presented for approval at the RPSI inspection in the fall of 2012.

Kaleidoscope's O'Really

  DAM

Kaleidoscope's Wayward

The foal from this breeding will be going to the new owner as an all-around small horse, with a definite potential for dressage. With the Connemara sire having been bred for dressage as well as jumping and Wayward being a double-grand daughter of the top producing Oldenburg stallion, Weltstern, this foal should take the owner anywhere she would like to go as a performance mount. SOLD

  DAM

This breeding should produce an outstanding competition prospect for either dressage or eventing based on conformation, movement and bloodlines. The sire is a 3rd generation Kaleidoscope sportpony, with big, powerful movement from his warmblood background. The dam is a Connemara/Arab cross, by the sire of our current dressage-bred Connemara stallion with the refinement and suspension of her Arab dam. Both the Connemara/Arab crosses and the Warmblood/Arab crosses have worked very well for us in the past and we expect this breeding to produce an outstanding foal for any discipline. The possibility of the foal being buckskin or pinto is excellent, an additional incentive.

  DAM

The foal from this breeding will be an excellent prospect for eventing or hunter pony disciplines. Cody is half-Connemara, sired by my foundation Connemara stallion, Stonybrooks Curragh Kildare (deceased) out of a warmblood Weltstern grand-daughter. The palomino dam is half Welsh, not registered, but said to have TB breeding as well and looks as if she is a Welsh/TB cross, with a very hunterish way of going.

The foal resulting from this cross is 3/4 Connemara, should mature a large pony and will be an outstanding performance prospect for dressage or for eventing for a youth rider or smaller adult. The sire is our Connemara stallion, Blarney, who has all of the 'jump' the breed is notable for but is also from lines that have been bred specifically for dressage. The dam, Peek-A-Boo, is one of the foundation mares in the Kaleidoscope sportpony program, sired by the pinto Weltstern son, Windwalker, out of a small Connemara mare.

Please keep in mind our prices reflect the economy rather than the quality of the horses and ponies.
Price will vary depending on timing of purchase and the specific contract terms, starting at $500
