"WATERLOO"
Waterloo, by Weltstern, was bred specifically to intensify the prepotent movement of his sire. A 1999 foal, he is out of the gold champagne Weltstern daughter, Marilyn Monroe. A striking foal from birth, he has matured to show excellent movement, significant jumping talent and appears to have justified the breeding by proving to be very prepotent in producing extreme movement in his foals.
Since Redbud Stables and Kaleidoscope both primarily focus on pony breeding, Waterloo was presented to AWR for inspection and approval to the sportpony division this fall. He was approved and awarded First Premium, with an impressive 8.0 in the freejumping. He will now go under saddle and plans are to compete with him on a limited basis in 2006.
Waterloo will stand at stud with Teresa at Redbud Stables. Although our
primary interest is in the sportpony breeding program, Waterloo was bred to a
variety of mares in 2005, both ponies and horses. He will be available to
outside mares with shipped semen for the 2006 breeding season. For more
information, video or stud contract, contact Teresa at lungewhipqueen@yahoo.com
New Waterloo foals
We are delighted to announce the first of the new Waterloo offspring, an absolutely stunning filly owned by Denise Bell-Evans of Amarugia Farm in the Kansas City area. This filly is out of Denise's lovely New Forest pony mare and has absolutely everything a sportpony breeder could ask for. Waterloo foals
of 2002
The 2002 champagne colt out of the Trakehner mare Fanfara shown here at 2 months of age. A light gold champagne, he also appeared to carry sabino characteristics, having three high white stockings and a wide blaze going over the chin. Willpower was a breathtaking yearling, showing indications that he would mature to 17 hands and retain his exceptional movement and wonderful disposition. Plans were to retain him as a stallion at Kaleidoscope Farm but he was lost, tragically, to a ruptured bladder in June of 2003.
WINTER MOON
This lovely champagne filly is a full sister to the deceased Willpower and shows the same pale gold champagne color and possible sabino characteristics, with one high white rear stocking and a blaze. Moon has shown the presence and movement characteristics of the Weltstern-line youngsters from the day she put her feet on the ground. Owned by Carolyn Miller of Greenstone
Farm in Virginia, Winter Moon is shown here early in her two year old year.
