"WINDWALKER"
M. Hickman Windwalker is a 16.1 hand 1998 chestnut tovero stallion, sired by the Class I licensed Oldenburg stallion Weltstern. Walker's dam, Elegance, is a tovero mare out of an APHA mare, Bare Elogance, sired by the APHA stallion Montana Spook, a 16 hand stallion who sired several successful hunter/jumper and event horses.
Windwalker went to Elderberry Stables on a joint
ownership, and was then sold last year as both owners elected to
"downsize" to sportpony breeding almost exclusively.
**** WINDWALKER
FOALS ****
Wayward Wind
is Walker's 2003 chestnut tovero filly out of a half-Oldenburg
mare, shown here at 6 weeks of age. "Windy" is a very
athletic, bold filly with lots of bone and size, plus her sire's
people-oriented disposition and wonderful movement. "Peek-A-Boo"
"Boo"
is our first Windwalker foal, a bay minimal tobiano out of a
purebred Connemara mare. She is Walker's first sport pony prospect,
a very nice typey filly that appears likely to remain under
14.2 hands, thanks to her dam, who has held size down with previous
warmblood-cross foals. Boo is the result of what our previous
generations of breeding have been working to establish. Her
"small horse" type plus her extension and suspension
demonstrating her warmblood heritage is what we have been hoping
to establish with our pony project.
Bandit is a very distinctively marked palomino tovero colt,
very similar in type to his dam, Peek-A-Boo and her first foal. He is an
outstanding example of what the Kaleidoscope sportponies represent, and the
third generation from a breeding program planned to produce youngsters with
excellent conformation, type and presence with the ability to excel in any
discipline. It is foals like this that justify our "pony project".
