Kaschmir
American
Warmblood (Trakehner) Stallion
Kaschmir is a tightly bred son of Donaufurst, a
Trakehner stallion that has won numerous grand and reserve championships
in Canada in Dressage and Jumping. Donaufurst the only stallion in the
history of the breed to have three sons approved in one year; all were
bred by Gunter Bertelmann, the breeder of Kaschmir. He is also the only
breeder in the history of the breed to accomplish this. Kaschmir's dam
is Karavella III. Two of her daughters were both Grand Champions in Germany,
one was champion twice and was reserve champion the year her half sister
was champion. Kaschmir is Karavella III’s only offspring in the North America.
Kaschmir has a fantastic temperament, great movement and powerful hind
quarters that he stamps his get with. So far he has thrown 100% color of
the mare in his offspring, which is quite unusual for a gray. Standing
17.1 hands he throws size, with all get taller than the mare. Karavella
III's sire is Donauwind, and Kaschmir’s great grand-sire on the mare's
side on both sides is Pregel, Donauwind's sire. Kaschmir's first get, Mendlessohn,
has just started his training. This very athletic horse is being broke
to ride - bare back - a compliment to Kaschmir's temperament which he passes
on.
Kaschmir's registry has been changed to SHOC (International Sport Horse of Color)
Pedigree: Kaschmir is by Donaufurst out Karavella III by Donauwind. Donaufurst is by Mahagony. Included in lineage as his Grand Sire on the mares side on both sides is the great Pregel and, as Grand Dam, the premium mare Donaulied vom Schimmelhof.
