WHISPERING HILL FARM

Welcome to the farm. Boy, my friends have really been after me lately to get this page updated. After all some of the babies on this page are already "mothers" to other babies.......How did I get so far behind? I tried to take each of the mares that we have on the farm and have given you a brief update on what they look like and what they are doing right now. (I'm going to try to keep it pretty vague on purpose so the information isn't outdated by the time I get it posted.) The mares on this page are purebred Arabians, Part-Arabians, and even some non-Arabs, but each is special for some reason. Enjoy getting to know our mares and if you have any questions or would be interested in one of these lovely mares, ask about her..........I just might be persuaded to sell.......you never know.

No Ordinary Girl

(Key Sera Sera x Flisaria)
1995 Pinto, Part-Arab, NSH Mare

Cocoa, as we call her, is a beautiful, tall liver chestnut tobiano mare. She was shown in halter as a 2 year old and finished the year as the Ohio Champion Pleasure/Saddle Mare in 1997. Cocoa was broke to saddle the following year and sure did look beautiful under saddle. She has such a beautiful trot. Cocoa is one of the kindest mares that we have ever owned. She is easy to work with and is such a good mother. Her foals have been beautiful and Cocoa takes her job as "mom" very seriously. Cocoa inherited her wonderful neck set and size from her sire, Key, but both Key and Flisaria have given her that kind disposition.

Nevada Rain
(Key Sera Sera x Arcadian Adriana)
1999 Pinto, Part-Arab, NSH Mare

Rainy is probably one of the flashiest daughters of Key. She took the show ring by storm earning over 100 points in halter and over 100 points in color. It's hard to believe after seeing her in the show ring that she would turn out to be such a good "pasture" horse. She loves her herd and is definitely one of the leaders, but that certainly doesn't stop her from being the very first to see any people who come to visit. She is right there. Rainy is a gentle riding horse and could probably do just as well in the show ring under saddle. She has also proven herself to be an outstanding producer and mother. Look for information about her palomino pinto filly, Rain N Gold.

Midnight Seranade
(Key Sera Sera x Falcon's Misty Dawn)
2002 Pinto, NSH Mare

Seranade is our homozygous pinto mare with really unique markings. People laugh at her markings, asking if she is part appaloosa. I wish I could say that she is black, but actually she is that real dark black/bay or brown color. Seranade is really tall and has that beautiful Key neck. She is actually 75% Saddlebred and only 25% Arabian. Seranade has never been shown yet, but is broke to saddle and moves really well. Don't I wish that I was younger........she looks like a super dressage prospect.

Made To Order
(Society's Hot Spot  x Algwynara)
1992 Pinto, Part-Arab, NSH Mare

MTO was the very first pinto filly born on our farm and needless to say I was ecstatic with her. After probably 10 years of trying to get a pinto................I finally had one and what a beauty. We started showing MTO at 3 months of age at the 4-H Production level and kept right on from there. MTO has a Register of Merit in Halter, English, and Color. We've hauled her all over and as far away as Louisville, Kentucky. Without a doubt, I spoiled her to death and because of that, she will probably be with us forever as I doubt that anyone would want to put up with her "prissy, I'm special" personality. And although, we've more than once said that she is "strange".........MTO has turned out to be an outstanding broodmare. She is loving and caring to her foals and oh so patient with them and they, in turn, are really beautiful and smart, really quick learners who love to work. Yes, we do have the stories to go with this girl; ask us about them sometime and you will be surprised.

KSM Musc Be Klassi
(*Fairview Klassique  x Muscaffona)
2000 Purebred Arabian Mare

Every once in a while, a very special horse comes into your life. I have been lucky to have had a few of those special ones and Klassi is certainly one. Klassi is sired by a National Champion halter stallion, Fairview Klassique and is out of the  champion producing daughter of the National Champion stallion, *Muscat. Everyone who comes to visit is taken with her beauty. She is right there soaking up all that attention. We finally were able to get Klassi out to the show ring in 2006 and she didn't disappoint us. She went Champion mare and First place in Amateur to Handle at the Silver Spurs show .Klassi, again, did outstandingly well in halter in 2007. Hopefully, she'll be back in the ring again!!!  What fun!!!!

WH Wildfire
(Algwyn  x Margolot)
1984 Purebred Arabian Mare

It's hard to believe that Tubby is getting this old. She is the last daughter of our first Arab stallion, Algwyn. Tubby has been worth her weight in gold (and she weighs quite a bit). We originally bred Tubby and then sold her as a weanling. We were so lucky to get her back in 1996 as I really wanted to continue her bloodlines. I already knew the value of Algwyn's lines and Tubby's dam, Margolot traced back to *Lotnik, one of General Patton's WW II prizes from Poland. There aren't too many offspring of that "superhorse".  After many beautiful colts and solid fillies, I was finally blessed with a purebred filly by My Alybi in 2006. We will be keeping this filly to replace Tubby when she can no longer have those special foals. I'm so thankful for her filly, Reddi Made Alybi.

Key Kommitment
(Key Sera Sera x Algwynara)
1998 Pinto, Part-Arab, NSH Mare

KC, that cute little filly that I had on the old Photo page, is all grown up and has proven herself as both a show horse and an outstanding broodmare. KC has always been very special to me. She is the last daughter of my favorite mare, Algwynara. When I look at KC's face and eyes, I can still see her mother. KC is a tall and flashy mare, with a really loving disposition (isn't that so typical of Key babies?). She has quite a show record in halter and was shown both Pinto and Class A Arab. KC earned her Register of Merit in 2000. We planned to show KC under saddle, but unfortunately, she got put on the "back burner" when Twister got sick. KC is a great mother and her foals are every bit as typey as she is.

Non-Arabian Mares
We have three other mares here at the farm that aren't of Arabian blood, but that should cross well with our stallions and will offer some unique foals. We had the opportunity to acquire these mares this year and can't wait to see how they will contribute to our breeding program here at Whispering Hill.

1) Sierras Dazzlin Pearl
2003 Perlino Tobiano Mare APHA# 772,909

Sierra is a big and beautiful registered Paint mare. She is a double dilute perlino tobiano. That means that all her foals will be either palomino, buckskin, or smokey black and there is a 50/50 chance that each could be a pinto. Won't those be some striking Part-Arabians???? Sierra is a very gentle mare and fits in really well at the farm. We had her broke to saddle and she is all ready to be a trail horse as well as brood mare.

2) Hootin Holler
2004 Perlino Tobiano Pinto Mare
PtHA # 132840

Hootie is another double dilute pinto mare that we have added to our broodmare band. She is a nice tall mare with a smooth body and excellent legs. I'm not real knowledgeable on Quarter Horse lines, but she does go back to Colonel Freckles and Boson Mac which were both beautiful horses. Hootie has been broke to ride and now, we will be anxiously awaiting her beautiful babies.

3) Cookie
2001 Cremello Grade Mare

After all the time that I spent looking for a double dilute mare, I could hardly believe that I found one about 10 miles down the road from our house. Not only is Cookie a gentle and kind horse, but she is well broke to ride and quite unflappable. How exciting to us to have another beautiful double dilute mare to breed to our stallions. We are looking forward to many contributions from Cookie over the years.
